More Valuable Than Gold

Have you heard the news? I read about it on USAToday's Lifeline Live blog: Actress Diane Keaton is set to write a memoir focusing on her relationship with her mother. But that's not the part of the article that caught my attention. This is:

"After giving birth to Diane, Dorothy Keaton Hall started keeping a journal, filling more than 90 notebooks over the course of her life, writing about her four children, her marriage, her frustrations of being a housewife in the 1950's and 1960's, and her dreams."

An article in the New York Times Arts section says Ms. Keaton read these journals back to her mother during Mrs. Hall's final years of battling Alzheimer's disease.

Can you imagine receiving - and giving back - such a wonderful gift?

Wow.

Just wow.
